Carbon Poker Set Themselves Apart From Market Leaders
July 2, 2009
Carbon Poker is an online poker room that was created in 2007, created out of staff and management of the company that were heading up Poker.com.
After deciding that they would break away from the domain Poker.com for a more brandable one in Carbon Poker, the company formed the gaming network now known as Merge Gaming Network.
After the creation of the network the staff at Carbon Poker decided that they would increase the awareness of the new online poker room as well as exploring the possibility of creating new online poker games and tournaments for their players to participate in, setting them apart from their rival sites in the market.
After careful consideration and regular meetings with players and professionals alike, the company created a new form of sit and go tournament, placing a bounty on the heads of the players who bought into the tournament, offering a financial reward to every player who managed to knock a player out of a tournament even if they didn’t place.
The response to these tournaments has been warm to say the least, with many players opting to play this style of tournament over the standard sit and go format that is offered by some many other online poker rooms available.
Carbon Poker is fast becoming a known site within the large market niche after becoming the home of Bad Beat Jackpots, paying out over $1.2 million on one occasion.
Many sites have began to replicate this jackpot due to the sheer size of the pull factor that something like this generates, pulling players in from other poker sites with the promise that if they receive a bad beat, they will be rewarded and rewarded well.
These two additions to Carbon Poker are what highlighted them within the online poker community for being a site that players have to try out in order to experience a truly unique experience.
With the success of the Merge Gaming Network and the huge reaction that Carbon Poker has generated in its short time within the industry, the network decided to branch out further, accepting now online poker rooms to join their network which allows their reach over their targeted niche grow significantly.
With the sheer size of the network, the chances are that the site are going to quickly become on of the worlds leading online poker rooms but they will have a tough challenge to overcome if they are to see of the prowess of such sites as Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker.
